Milan

Going back home

No, I have not returned to Milan, also because that would not be so easy, quite the contrary.
But I am back here on my blog, the one that is ten years old, which will be eleven this year, and I have stitched the new blog to the old one, and also a bit of my past to my present and future....

Going to the hairdresser

Even in Italy, finding the right hairdresser is not easy; in a foreign country, it is worse.

But after two months here, I needed to cut and dye my hair.

I had my first experiment in a small hairdresser near Sweet Cottage, which was cheap and went quite badly, although fortunately, my short haircut can withstand even the worst of hairdressers....

London Calling

The dice are cast: right now, we are at the airport waiting for the departure of our one-way flight to London. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong, and much has been done at the last minute. But we are leaving, and that is what counts. Our thoughts turn to what we leave behind: our beautiful little house, our friends,...

New year, new life

Today was quite a busy day, both for work and after work. Towards evening it started to rain, and as always on these occasions, the roads in Milan became impossible, and surface transport began to delay. I walked to my bus quietly; instead, it gave a waiting time of 14 minutes. Since I was in a hurry, I walked the route....

#349 - Citymapper

I had already installed this app some time ago because I had seen rave reviews, but as there was no map of Milan yet, I uninstalled it to save space. But now the maps of Milan and Rome are there (and also the Italian translation, for those who needed it): and so this very lightweight app (both in terms of space occupied and app speed) is back on my phone....

#244 - July, with the love I have for you

I am very grateful to Milan for these days of mild, non-sweltering temperatures.
All right, there are also the furious storms that make the Seveso flood, but the privilege of having cool mornings and evenings when I have to use a blanket to sleep is priceless.
Every day I think: that’s it, today it’s going to be sultry,...
