Rearranging ideas

A lot has happened in the last two months, most of it was very nice.
Eventually, the company that ‘is one of the biggest companies in the market for cosmetics, perfumes and skin and hair care products’ confirmed their offer, and I resigned. Since that moment two months ago, it has been a whirlwind of events, and to recount everything in detail would be virtually impossible.
I am now officially on holiday until tomorrow, but in fact, I finished what was my first job in the UK last Friday.
I must say that I have learnt and understood more in the last two months than in the whole year I spent there.
I had hoped to have more time since I resigned, but that was not the case, but that’s OK because I also got to spend a week with the person who replaced me, and I tried to sort out everything I could before I left.
I will start my new job next week, so I finally have some time to tidy up my ideas and take care of all those loose ends left over.

It was also an intense period because so many friends visited us, and we will see more of them again this week. The pleasure of seeing them, the beautiful gifts we received, all the nice things we did together, and the chats about serious and less serious things made this past month an extraordinary one.
I can never thank them enough.

I want to talk about one gift above all, which was not given to me by friends but was an idea of my now former manager: an olive tree, a symbol of peace and friendship.
Planting this olive tree in its new pot, which we finally managed to get yesterday, is my duty today, to remind myself and others that peace and friendship are still very much needed and that trying to understand each other, despite differences, is the only possible way forward for all of us.

Then, calmly, I will get the usual panic about the new job.
