Happy New Year

This year has undoubtedly been an exceptional, unrepeatable year.
Looking back on everything that has happened, I can say that it certainly has not been an easy year; it has been very tiring but also full of satisfaction.
On 31 January next, it will be one year that we are in London and officially registered as Italians abroad.
We still have issues with closing with the motherland, although the transition is complete for the most part.
It was the year when I discovered many new things, including some I did not know about myself.
The year when, with a lot of effort, I realised what it means to be bilingual.
The year I discovered what it was like to lose the hearing in one ear and the struggle to get it back.
The year of the Expo, which they are now dismantling.
I’ve come to this New Year as tired as ever but considering everything I’ve done this year, it’s not strange.
It is hard to say goodbye to this year, but time is inevitable and leaves us no choice.
I hope, and wish all of you, that 2016, although it does not present itself as an excellent year (leap year, fatal year), will indeed be a good one, one that sees you in good health, with loved ones, and one that gives you at least some satisfaction.
Happy New Year to you all

P.s. We will celebrate New Year’s Eve in an hour. Power of the time zone.
