See you later

Today this blog is ten years old. Ten tormented years, starting on Splinder, passing through other platforms with other names like so many others, to finally land on a dedicated domain with WordPress. Ten years have passed, closed and reopened many times, and it is still here.
The time has come to close, but this time for real.
The blog will stay here, but I’ve been thinking about it for a long time, and it no longer makes sense to stay here and tell my business. It would make sense to stay if I had something particular to say, if I took a precise path, even among the last ones I wrote about (make-up, TV series, Android apps, the routine and difficulties of living in Milan) or even if I decided to integrate the technical posts written elsewhere and write about that.
But that’s not a path for me.
Blogs have long since evolved, and very few have retained the diary form. Many diaries have become more like opinion blogs, especially the most popular ones.
But many of those who, like me, kept a diary without ever having much of a following have long since closed down.
In its etymological sense of a diary, the blog no longer objectively makes sense to me.
It’s already been a long time since I’ve chronicled what’s happening to me, the essential things; lately, it’s become much more pronounced, and writing has become more and more difficult.
The time has come to say: goodbye.
Goodbye because it is not sure that I will not open another blog, on another domain, with a different form and a different subject. But I will not reopen this one.
Thanks to those who have continued to follow me over the years, which is always a pleasure to know that someone reads what you write.
And, so, goodbye, and happy tenth birthday, blog.
