#227 - Continuum

Canadian science fiction series broadcast by Showcase started on 27 May 2012 and has three seasons to its credit; the third has just ended, and the last episode aired today.
The theme is that of time travel; the triggering event is the jumping back 65 years, from 2077 to the present day, of terrorists about to be executed, who unwittingly also bring with them an agent who will hunt them down....

#226 - You're red, skinned, like a pepper

The trip to the lake was enjoyable, but I’m a bit dizzy, and I forgot my sun cream, so now I’m just like in that song there.
This is also good for me, as it’s been a long time since I’ve sunbathed, and my skin just needed a good wetsuit.

#225 - The starry sky above me, the confusion within me

I have rewritten this post a hundred times, mainly because today was not a great day, and all in all, I don’t feel like talking about it. And so, this post stays like this, a bit blank, a bit empty.
As soon as I have the time and inclination, I swear I’ll start writing about TV series again, that there are still some good ones....

#223 - Orphan Black

Today we talk about clones, how it is possible for one actress, Tatiana Maslany, to play up to 12 different characters in a masterful way, and how she has won and been nominated for many awards.
This series began on 30 March 2013, broadcast by BBC America and Space in Canada, filmed in Canada, and has two seasons to its credit;...

#222 - Fargo

No, I am not referring to the film with the same name by the Cohen brothers, and by the way, I must admit I have never seen it (a shortcoming I will soon fill up, I hope), but to the TV series.
It is challenging to describe the series and do it justice; it is one of those that must be counted in the fortunate sequence of excellent products that,...

#221 - Restarting

Today is a little more Monday than usual, although fortunately, there is nice cool weather.
Partly because the weekend was tiring but pleasant, and somewhat because sometimes, like today, my work bores me a lot (although, to be accurate, what I’m doing wouldn’t strictly be my job, which probably explains why I’m bored).
Luckily there are a few good things planned,...

#220 - The State of the Railways

I hadn’t taken a train for some time, and I was worried about the delays, the lack of air conditioning, and the lowly state of the trains. But I had to change my mind: out of the three regional trains I took, all three were air-conditioned, the state of the carriages was decent, and the timetables were reasonably well respected....
