#155 - INPS: how to apply to the Guarantee Fund

Since I looked on the INPS website and found nothing on the subject, and this morning I queued up at the INPS unnecessarily, I am reporting here on the procedure for applying to the Guarantee Fund since it is not enough to have the SR50 and SR52 forms adequately filled in and signed and the supporting documentation.
There are three ways to do this:

1) legal representatives (read: your lawyers) can do so via the INPS website and can then send the documentation via PEC*

2) you can apply to the Patronato and then, with the receipt of the application, go to your INPS office and hand in your ticket and documents

3) it can be done online, already having a PIN for services on the INPS website: Fondo di garanzia del TFR e dei crediti di Lavoro (Workers’ Severance Indemnity and Employment Credit Guarantee Fund)

For the application to be valid, one must convert one’s PIN into a device PIN. I quote from the INPS website:

In confirming the correct receipt of your application for intervention of the Guarantee Fund whose date of transmission via web with online PIN remains valid for all purposes, we inform you that to allow us to define the application it is necessary for you to request the activation of a “dispositional PIN”.

The request for this PIN can be made through the online procedure on the INPS website which can be reached by following the path: “Home Page” –> “Online Services” –> “Request your Pin Online” –> “CONVERT YOUR PIN”.

It is possible to do the whole PIN conversion procedure online, having a printer and a scanner. The activation was almost immediate, so I could return to INPS and complete the application, handing in all the documents.
I wonder what the point of all this is, but I prefer not to know the answer.

*the lovely lady at the counter kept saying: lawyer Web. When I asked for an explanation, she even had the nerve to say it was already quite clear.
