#150 - Facial cleansing: the muslin cloth

This spring is putting a bit of a strain on my skin, which is practically moulting. However, it is expected that the skin’s balance also changes with the change of season. I had already mentioned Liz Earle’s facial cleansing kit and advised you against using it every day. I have never used it every day, but 2/3 times a week in this period, it is a good help.
So far, I have tried facial scrubs and wooden brushes. Still, in my opinion, the muslin cloth is the best thing for my skin: it’s not as aggressive as the brush, it’s not as light as the scrub, it allows me to calibrate the pressure on the face well and to insist on the most critical points easily.
I suppose you can use it with any cleansing cream, although I haven’t tried it yet. The procedure, in a nutshell, is: you spread the cream evenly over your face, wet the muslin cloth, and wring it out, then wipe your face with the cloth to remove the cream.
My skin is perfectly smooth and clean this way, and as I usually do it in the evening, ready for the serum and night cream; it has improved over time.
Of course, the cloth has to be washed, which is the tedious thing about the whole operation, but, unlike the brush, it ensures that there is no residue when you go to reuse the cloth (I always have the impression that the brush doesn’t clean thoroughly, the cloth can be seen if traces of dirt remain).
Now the next problem will be finding a good sunscreen, as the sun has started to get a bit strong, and the face is the one that suffers first.
