In this period, for obvious reasons, there is much talk of stress coming back.
I have read this short post by Alessandro Longo: in this form I do not agree with it, but let’s say that in part it contains an interesting indication.
If you stress the idea of returning to work, it is not “normal”, but it is a problem that must be solved by changing existential choices.
I find that such an analysis is quite superficial, because we all know that many of us do not choose work, but rather thank almost every day to have one, and not be unemployed or in layoffs.
And among these, some have very few chances to change their lives, especially because of the responsibilities they have (for example, a family with children, but the examples could be endless).

But there is always a but.
This is not always the case, and I have often seen people who are single, with a healthy family that could help them in the event of a disaster, do a hateful and hated job without even thinking that there could be alternatives.
Very often the underlying motivations of these people are related to the fear of change (for example, they do not want to leave the city where they live, friends, habits), or the inability to think about learning new things (getting a new title study and / or training courses).

The sentence of the above post then acquires a different meaning: it is not that in some cases the existential choices should really be rethought?
I’m not saying it would not be risky, the risk should be assessed case by case and clearly should not be excessive, but the total immobility that I see in many cases is certainly not a solution: it is better to get sick of stress to do a hateful job and do not change or stress because you are risking something to improve your life?
In short, change is not a matter of courage, but the result of a careful evaluation of what is really convenient.

There are many positive examples in this sense, still in progress, to which I wish a lot of luck.

There are two friends who will probably recognize each other in this description: one of them left his city for the second time to come to Milan (the first was for another city in the North); the other decided to be less independent leaving the work to devote body and soul to the university, with all the problems that this involves (especially those related to cohabitation with parents).
It is a life made up of compromises, sacrifices, sacrifices, big and small; a life that is not easy, but at least they will be able to say: at least I made an attempt.

Then there is an example of a radical change of life, which I do not know personally, but I think that it was not easy for him, and that it is not easy:
I was an IT specialist, now I try to make a living with food. I am collecting funds for a transport bike for deliveries.
Naturally I invite those who have the opportunity to participate in fundraising.

There is also a book I read recently and which I recommend: Almost almost I quit.
To be read not so much for the examples, since in many cases the people who have changed have not risked much and often started from a favorable situation, but rather to reflect on how sometimes the change calls us closely and we do not notice it , and on the fact that we can find our way reflecting carefully on what we really like to do.

In short, sometimes reflecting on the fact that change is not always a bad thing can do us good.
