Purchasing advice

Shoes

Today I want to tell a somewhat surreal story with a happy ending.

On 15 May, I went into the Bata shop at 22 Via Orefici in Milan to see how the shoes in the photo fit me.
I ask the saleswoman my size (36), and she returns with a box taken from the stockroom. I try on the shoes: the left one fits me a bit tight, but the saleswoman reassures me and advises me to put them on at home before putting them out to stretch them out a bit. I like them very much, and so I buy them.

The next day at home, I tried them on again and realised that the left was too narrow. Then I doubt and look: the left is not a 36, but a 35.

Unfortunately, I had thrown away the receipt, but I paid with a credit card and at least had the e-mail alert. I, therefore, went back to the shop with a clear conscience.

In a nutshell, they checked for mismatched numbers, but there was no sign of them: the only plausible hypothesis is that they were put like that already in the box. The good thing is that they were friendly, the saleswoman who had served me apologised (but I also apologised for not having checked earlier) and they changed my shoes.
In short, given the courtesy and kindness, I highly recommend that shop if you like something of that brand and you are from Milan. And they are also very well stocked.
